With all the crazy energies going on it’s not surprising that so many people are feeling a tad overwhelmed or stressed about their situation.

Not only is it the weird energies like the super moon, Covid-19 and all the astrological stuff as well, but also the feeling that we need to re-evaluate our lives.  Then there’s a few retrogrades which always throw havoc into our lives!

You CAN survive this!

Here’s some tips to help you get through what can sometimes be a challenging time.

  1. Focus on what you can change. When you start getting overwhelmed by everything that’s going on you need to emotionally pull yourself back, take a deep breath and analyse what it is you’re overwhelmed about.  Trying to juggle working at home, kids at home and life in general.  Then make a list of what your priorities are, what is actually important for you to do and the rest can wait.
  2. Yes, take a moment when the anxiety hits and take 5 big breaths.  Slowly breathe in through the nose until your lungs are full and hold for a couple of seconds and then slowly breathe it all out through the mouth until your lungs are completely empty.  Repeat!  This helps calms the brain and retrigger it to stop anxiety.  Think of it as either the Ctl+Alt+Delete sequence or as turning off and counting 30 seconds and then turning it on.
  3. One thing at a time. In this ‘cray cray’ world we far too often are juggling way too many balls and this actually makes us more Unproductive.  When you just focus on completing one task, you’ll then get it done and then you can move onto the next.  You’ll feel less out of control by doing this as well.  I know that personally, I started to do this and I am way more productive, even working from home.  I check my emails and sort them out, that’s all I do.  I’m not opening Facebook and Instagram and checking there, while doing my accounts.  It’s one thing, then I tick it off the list, then start on the next.
  4. Meditate – always a good thing when you’re becoming overwhelmed. I love that saying that we should all meditate for 15 minutes a day and if you don’t have the time to do that, then meditate for 30 minutes.  Again, it’s one thing at a time.  When I have my morning coffee, I have it, I sit outside and read a book and watch the wildlife for 15-30 minutes.  That’s just my ahhhh down time and then I’m back into work.
  5. Do some exercise – yep, love having my pole in the garage! Go for a walk, don’t talk on the phone while you’re doing exercise again, one thing at a time. Just enjoy the fresh air, the movement of your body, feeling your heart beating.  Exercise is a great help when you are overwhelmed or suffering anxiety – and if you’re feeling a bit lethargic, it’s great to get energy as well!
  6. Ring a friend. Or if you’re really struggling call Lifeline or a counselling line to help you through.  I know far too many people think that it’s a sign of weakness to have to ask for help, but I see it as a sign of strength.  To be able to admit that you need some help is strength, not weakness!
  7. Last but not least – be kind to yourself. Especially in regards to how you are thinking to yourself, talking to yourself in your head.  Stop beating yourself up.  You’re human and you only have so many hours in a day, stop thinking you have to be superwoman / superman you don’t.  Nurture yourself every day because you deserve it.

Don’t allow what’s going on outside of your world to overwhelm you, the whole key to spirituality and mindfulness is literally being able to stay calm in a difficult world.  It’s not about hiding from the world.

You’ve got this, I believe in you and know you can do it.
