Intuition isn’t something that only psychics possess.  We all have that small little voice inside us, that inner knowledge.  For some it’s a voice inside your head or it could just be a shiver down your spine or some weird feeling in your stomach.  However you receive it, the job of intuition is the same: it’s to give you information that you need to know in that moment.

Don’t for one moment think that you don’t have intuition, because you do!  It’s not exlusive!

The problem a lot of people have is that we don’t listen to it.  We possess it but we allow our intellect to get in the way of our intuition.

The thing is, intuition is something that gives us an understanding or a judgment / thought process without any rational explanation.

It just is!

We often don’t listen to it because there’s no rational explanation behind intuition and why we have it.

We’ll write that gut feeling off as irrational, or not making any sense, and because we write it off and don’t listen to our intuition, we’re actually missing out on an incredibly important skill that we all possess.

One of the reasons that we often misunderstand our intuition is because we aren’t understanding what we’re receiving something. We start to rationalize and think that the message we’re getting is fear or maybe our anxiety kicking it.

And it can be a bit of a challenge to get the hang of listening to our intuition!

This is especially the case if you do suffer from anxiety because when that kicks in it’s a lot harder to listen to your intuition.

Intuition isn’t a big strong emotion of any kind.  It’s more of someone tapping you on the shoulder and saying, ‘you need to pay attention to this’.

Remember, that if you’re having trouble following your instinct, it’s more than likely because you’re smothering it with fear or maybe insecurity.

Here’s a tip to help you.

Keep a diary! Write down every single time you feel that your intuition is trying to tell you something. And if you know what that something is, write that down as well.

What you also need to do is then write down whether you followed that instinct or ignored it and what happened either way.

Listening to your intuition is important, because it helps us to not make mistakes.  It helps us avoid situations or even put us in good situations, allowing good things to happen!

Understanding and listening to your intuition helps you in all facets of your life.  This doesn’t just have to be a ‘spiritual’ thing.  It can help in making businesses decisions, relationships, general life.  It’s the thing that helps us when we don’t realise we need help.

Have you ever gone to walk out of the house and just felt that you needed to take something with you, even though you don’t know why? In this case let’s say an umbrella.  And low and behold later on, it actually rains and you need it, even though it wasn’t forecasted? That’s intuition.

Start keeping a journal of your moments of intuition and what you did or didn’t do and then what did or didn’t happen.  You’ll soon release how amazing and important it is!
