You show compassion to others, why not yourselves? You tell your friends not to beat themselves up, but you constantly berate yourself for making “mistakes” and making the “wrong” decision.  Please know that there is no such thing as a mistake.  Everything is part of your journey to help you grow and learn.  If only “good” things happened to you, where would you learn compassion and empathy?

What is “good”?  You must realise that it is different for everyone.  You may go to a resteraunt and order a meal that you don’t like, so for you it wasn’t good and you feel that you wasted your money, but for the person starving on the streets or in a refugee camp, that bad meal of yours would have been thought of as a gift from God and a true blessing.

Learn to appreciate all you have and when you’re feeling that life is being unfair to you and things aren’t going the way you want them to, you need to learn to put your experiences into perspective and not let them overwhelm you.
