My Gorgeous Guy and I were watching Australian Story last night and what an amazing woman Jules is – she started being a foster mum at 24 and at the moment has one biological son and three foster children between 15 and early 20’s, she also does work a lot of volunteer work for a charity.  I love hearing stories of people that are so selfless, whether you are a volunteer, a carer, a foster parent (to humans or animals) or a stay at home parent looking after your children you should all be so very incredibly proud of yourselves.  This world just wouldn’t survive without all of you that volunteer your time to help others, all of you that choose to be carers for family, you’re making huge sacrifices to do this and it should be more recognised throughout as a very worthwhile thing to do.

I get very frustrated that such an important role as a stay at home parent just isn’t given the credit that it deserves, it’s an incredibly important thing to do but for some reason and I don’t know if it is because you don’t get paid for it, that it doesn’t seem to be given the credit that it should be.  Yet, volunteers are looked upon as being a worthwhile cause, go figure.

So, today, if you’re a stay at home parent – tell the world that you’re proud of yourself!  Also, if you’re a carer or volunteer, let everyone know – and state who you volunteer for – you may give others ideas to join.  And if you know of someone that volunteers etc. then let us know how wonderful they are and why.

Let us all celebrate the wonderful people in this world who choose to help others, who give up their time and don’t expect payment nor credit but just go about what needs to be done
