What is being strong?  What does that mean?  I’m not talking weight lifting here, I’m talking emotionally strong.  Is it as simple as getting up each morning and facing a new day?

I feel it is when you are able to step out of your comfort zone, face your fears, challenging yourself and overcoming things that you once thought that you couldn’t.  They don’t have to be huge things, they can be things that others take for granted, for instance, someone who has agoraphobia just walking to the letterbox for the first time is a huge achievement and that makes them strong, they have achieved something that they thought they couldn’t and it is their first step to going out further.

Make sure you don’t compare yourself to others and what they have achieved because you’re journey is different, set your own goals and work towards them, be strong, believe in yourself, take baby steps if you have to then at least you’re trying.

Being strong isn’t just doing what you know you can do over and over again, being strong is overcoming those things that you thought you couldn’t do.  So pat yourself on the back and know that you are stronger than you thought.
