How do you know if you’re on the ‘wrong’ path?  You will notice I have the word ‘wrong’ in commas because I don’t actually believe that something is wrong but more an experience that we need to go through.

Maybe I should put it another way, how do you know when you’re not doing what your soul needs you to do?

Your spirit guides will let you know.  However, they quite often do it subtly, a slow simmer rather than a flash in the pan.

It’s up to you to recognise the signs.  I admit that it can sometimes be difficult to do this because sometimes the universe will test us to see if what we’re doing is really what we want.  Therefore, they can make things a bit difficult for us.

If you’re soul isn’t doing what it’s meant to be doing, you’ll start to recognise the signs.  Now I don’t like to think that I have to spell out the obvious, but I will.

You need to be going through more than one of the things listed.

For example, if you find that you’re irritated easily, is it hormones? Is your boss a dickhead? Are you tired from watching that show on Netflix for half the night?

Be honest with yourself if you find that you’re agreeing with something and do a double check to see if there are other factors at play as well.

Let’s start ……

  1. You hate Mondays (going to work) – when you wake up Sunday morning and dread that tomorrow is Monday and that means you have to go to work. I’m talking about the actual work that you’re doing, not who you work with.  If you hate going to work because of the people that you work with, but love your job, then you need to look for the same kind of work in a different setting, it’s not a sign you’re doing the wrong thing.  It’s when you loathe doing what you’re doing.
  2. You get irritated easily – when everyone and everything is really ticking you off. You become snappy at people that you would normally be nice to.  You’re irritated by things that normally, you’d just ignore and I don’t mean just for a day, I mean pretty well, all the time.
  3. You’ve started to question everything? – I’m talking about those big questions, like “Why am I here?”, “is this all there is to my life?”, “Do I even have a purpose?” These kinds of questions are what happen when your soul is starting to let you know that it’s not happy with the way you’re living your life.
  4. You just seem to be existing – kind of flowing from number three, you get up, do the same old same old, the joy of life seems to have evaporated yet, you’re doing all the things that you’re ‘supposed’ to be doing. Talking with people, doing your job, being a good parent / partner / child etc but it’s like you’re on automatic pilot.  That all your doing is making a living but your not really living.
  5. You’re unsatisfied with your life – I’m not talking about when people think that life is ‘unfair’ or that everyone else has more than you. I’m talking about when to the outside world, you seem to have it all.  You live in a nice home, drive a nice car, you can afford to buy clothes whenever you want, you’re in a great job, have a great family (any or all of these) but you know what? You just feel kind of nothing.  You’re not happy and in all honesty, when you’re feeling like this, it’s more that your soul is unhappy with you not with the life that you have created.  It’s not happy because all of those things aren’t necessarily important to your soul.
  6. You feel empty – the things that you used to enjoy doing, that now don’t bring joy, that you have to really make an effort to get up and do them. That’s when you know you’re feeling empty because your soul isn’t doing the things that make your heart sing, you’re doing what you think you should or maybe what life expects of you.
  7. Low Self-esteem – when you don’t feel that you’re good enough, that others are judging you, you’re not happy in your own skin. When your soul is happy, your self-esteem is lifted, I’m not talking being ‘up’ yourself but you no longer compare yourself to others, you focus on living your life your way without the need for approval.

Just a note as I finish off.

Do be aware that all of these things can hit and overwhelm us at once, which can then lead to depression.  It’s important to recognise the signs when they begin to happen, to then start implementing changes in your life so that you’re living the life your soul needs.  This starts with being honest with yourself, making a list of what you hate doing work / job wise so you know what not to get into, then looking at how you can change jobs / careers.  You may need to study, maybe you need to do some volunteer work to see what it’s like, start your own business.  Change the way you eat, the habits that you’ve developed.

It can take some time, but the end result is worth it.

Love & Light
