Did you do a little ritual for Lughnasadh? (pronounced Loo-nah-sah) I certainly did and I felt so uplifted and at peace afterwards, I do recommend people to do them! You don’t have to get into the chanting if you’re not comfortable with it, I just light whatever coloured candles are called for (for this ritual I use a gold and a green) I white sage my home, which I feel is always a good thing to do, especially in the area of work that I do! Then I just give thanks to air, water and fire and I wrote down things I need to let go of and ripped it up into tiny pieces and threw them out and said goodbye to those things. I also gave thanks to all that I have received in the past year. It’s as simple as that, beautiful and simple.
I have to confess that it’s taken me a while to be able to do this kind of thing comfortably, with my strict SDA upbringing it is something that I was told was the devil’s work – mind you as far as they are concerned I’m now DOING the devil’s work!! But the more I do it the more comfortable I am with it and letting go of those past inhibitions created by the church is a wonderful thing!
My Book
Speaking of upbringing …. I am in the process of writing a book, not because I think it will be a best seller or anything but so many people have asked me to write the story of my life and how I came to actually overcome the strict religious upbringing to now do what I do, and also how I worked out it was what I had to do and then when about doing it.
So here is where YOU come in – if you had a reading with me in 2010 and would like to contribute your reading to my book, please email me at Katrina@katrina-jane.com – you don’t have to go into great detail but just those things that were given to you that rang true or have actually come true to date. You must tell me when booking that you have been before – I also have a record of those that have had readings with me in my room, so I can double check.
The reason I say it must be at least six months, is I don’t believe that people should see clairvoyants too often, people start to be afraid to make a decision on their own, and we all have to make our own journeys – it’s about getting guidance to help with it.

Did readings for a hens day – it was out at the airport in Rutherford because the bride-to-be wanted to go skydiving!!! Not sure that I could be that brave but it was a fun day for all!!!
I also attended a baby shower, I have been blessed to meet so many wonderful people doing these parties!
I love doing these kinds of things, whether hens days, baby showers or just a fun get together and I feel very blessed to meet such wonderful people during these events.
Off the subject completely, Chris and I also celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day!

GROUP OF FRIENDS – If you don’t want to go the whole hog with a psychic party but there are four or so friends that would like half hour readings, I will visit you in your home – as long as it’s within a certain radius of Newcastle! As long as I have a private spot to sit and water to drink, I’m happy!!!
Types of readings:
I offer a few different ways to have a reading:-
- Face to face – where you come into my room here at Newcastle, this can be for an hour or ½ an hour and your reading is recorded and burnt to disc at no extra charge.
- Telephone – this is a ½ hour reading and for those that live in Australia
- SKYPE – ½ hour reading for those anywhere in the world!
- Emailed reading – ½ hour and again for those that find it difficult to come in for a reading or line a time up for a phone reading or SKYPE.
All readings are just as effective as the other, a face to face reading is no different from a phone reading, I just offer all of the above for your convenience.

It’s now time to sing my song.
A lot of times when doing readings I have people saying that they have asked for a sign from their spirit guides and angels but nothing has happened. As I always say to them and have mentioned before, you have to actually specify what you want the sign to be so that you know what you’re looking for!!
I want to tell a couple of little stories about how I have had answers to questions. As most of you know I go for about a 6km walk every day along Bar Beach through to Merewether Beach here at Newcastle, one particular morning I put it out there to my Spirit Guides and angels that I would like to find a Kookaburra feather. I find black feathers, black and white, and white ones all the time, but I decided I would like a Kookaburra feather – not for any particular reason, expect that I want to use it as my Athame when I do my little personal rituals, but it was necessarily important for me to have it, I just wanted one!! Mainly, because I’d never found one before.
So, I busily searched the ground as I walked and walked and searched and walked and nothing. Zilch, not a single Kookaburra feather to be found! Mind you, I wasn’t overly upset I just figured I wasn’t supposed to get one.
Later that afternoon I went downstairs to get the clothes off the line and there, sitting upright in the grass right in front of our clothesline (there are three down there) was my feather!!! How cool is that! Here I was thinking I would have to search high and low while going on my walk when in fact they put it right where I couldn’t miss it!!!
There was another instance, when I just wasn’t sure what to do so I put it out there that I wanted to find a feather with some colour on it – not black and white or brown but a pretty colour! So, off I go again, looking for a feather, I knew that if I found it, then that meant a certain thing and if I didn’t, then I had to let it go, on my way back home, having still not found a feather with colour I was walking along and noticed a little feather on the ground, I was going to walk past it but something made me stop and pick it up – guess what? It had a strip of yellow down one side! I couldn’t see the colour with how it was lying on the ground but there you go, I had my answer!!!
Another thing that I say to people is it’s a bit like flipping a coin, you have to make a definite about signs for example “if I see a rainbow that means I should ring my mother” and if I don’t see one, then that means I don’t ring my mother.
Because you’re spirit guides and angels will always answer your question, just sometimes the answer will be “No”, now is not the right time to do that. So make sure you know what the sign that you’re looking for means and what it means if you DON’T see the sign!!! Because that is just as important.

I’m writing a book – the story of how I came to be where I am and how I had to overcome the very strict religious upbringing that I had growing up, to now do this work.
I’m not doing this because I’m hoping for a best seller but because so many have asked me to write about it to help them.

I don’t remember any of the readings that I do, I don’t need your entire reading – just the instances that rang true for you or that have come true in that timeframe, or perhaps the proof of whomever it was that came through to give you the message……

I read a fantastic statement by Doe Zantamata which went like this:-
Accomplishment and achievement come with risks. But without going for it, the result would be a destiny unfulfilled. At some point, you need to take off the training wheels and just go for it.
You may fall a few times, but you just get back up and keep on trying until you get it right. Eventually, you will succeed.
For a lot of us we actually don’t feel worthy of success or even achievement. How many times have you received a compliment and your reply was something along the lines of “oh this old thing, I’ve had it for years” – someone gives you a compliment but you put back a negative. Why? Why can’t we just say “thank you so much”. If you find you’re in the habit of doing this, you will also have that tendency to not think you’re worthy of anything, whether it is a payrise, promotion, winning some money….. anything.
Therefore, you won’t try and accomplish or achieve anything or even sabotage what you do set out to do, because you don’t feel that you’re worthy of it!
So, next time someone gives you a compliment say thank you! If you feel that you deserve a promotion then start putting things into effect, whether that’s a bit of study to bring you up to scratch, or start taking on extra work – and start letting people know about it!!!
You deserve all the happiness in the world, but it’s up to you to make it happen and it’s as simple as a change of thought.

I decided to pull out a tarot card for my blog topic today and I got “sacrifice”.
My interpretation of this card is so many of us have trouble letting go, whether that is friends, family, habits or thoughts. We feel we have to surround ourselves with people and things to feel loved and appreciated, when that isn’t the case.
Take a look at your life right now and see what you are holding on to that you should have let go of a long time ago. The thing or things that are stopping you from moving forward because you can’t let go of the past or the through process.
You won’t be able to let go of them until you are ready but it’s also about stopping procrastinating and making the decision to let go and then accept it and move on.
I’m not saying we can’t be sentimental about some things, but some of us take it that step further and cling and cling when we should let go and everything and everyone around us is saying that we should let go, yet we just don’t.
You may feel that you will be perceived as a “bad” person because you don’t want to communicate with someone anymore because they constantly make you feel down, well as Eleanor Roosevelt said “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent”, so if you know that it is the right move to distance yourself for YOU, then do it. You don’t have to be mean or horrible to someone, just don’t ring them!!
What are you going to let go of?
Happy Lughnasadh! (pronounced Loo-nah-sah) it may be called Lammas – this festival is celebrated on either the 1st or 2nd February and this year it is on the 1st February.
What is it I hear you ask!
It is a harvest festival, a time to reflect and celebrate on what you have harvested in your own life over the past year.
At this time of year we are reminded that even though we are surrounded by bounty, the wheel of seasons is slowly turning and we are going into the winter months.
It is also a time to show appreciation for all that you have received, whether actual or emotional, as in you give thanks for new confidence and to celebrate life.
This is the time of year to de-clutter your homes and minds, give things to charity, start meditating, volunteer – I think you know what I’m talking about!
If you have an altar, you may wish to do a little ritual of cleansing your home with a smudge stick and then lighting a candle and reflecting on and writing down things that you regret. As you write these things down, farewell them as it is time to let them go.
In a safe environment burn your list and as you watch the smoke go up to the sky say goodbye to those things and be ready to move forward.
And then focus on the next phase of the year!

I am slowly recovering from my car accident, thank you to everyone who sent me healing energy and loving thoughts, they were greatly appreciated.
The problem with whiplash is you look fine but feel like you’ve been hit by a truck!
I’m really having problems with my neck but as those of you who read my blog each week will know, I’ve taken the smacks over the back of the head that I received from Spirit in 2011 and am listening and doing what my body and inner intuition are telling me!! A tough lesson for me to learn, but I do believe I have learnt it.
A little true story:-
When my husband and I lived up at Wauchope we “adopted” an older couple and have forever after referred to them as our ‘Wauchope mum and dad”. Wauchope dad just celebrated his 80th birthday and we were up there for the surprise birthday party, because well, we’re family!!!
Wauchope mum was talking to Chris (my husband) the other day and telling him that years ago she worked with a lady who did palm reading and one day this lady did a reading for her. She said it scared the daylights out of her, because everything that she said was correct and at the time this lady said that Mum would have five children, and mum said, “I don’t think so!”. She said that everything this lady told her had come true, and in regards to the five children, she only had four, but said to Chris – you are the fifth child! So, yes, as far as she is concerned, she does have five children!! It took longer than expected, but the prediction did come true!
Isn’t that a wonderful way to look at things? My husband doesn’t have contact with his family and it brought him to tears of happiness that they truly think of him as a son (and me a daughter of course!) and that even though she may not have given birth to him, she does indeed have five children now!
I wanted to share this story with you because I thought it was beautiful and I don’t know if there is a morale to it or not, but the only thing I’m being given, is to be open with the readings that you get – some people take things to literally and you do have to be open to all possibilities.
A message from: – Goddess Ishtar –
So many of you think that giving all the time is a good thing, I am telling you that it is not! When you constantly give and don’t receive you tire yourselves, you become down, and you lose energy. This is not the place or space that you want to be in. You need to learn to say ‘No’ when you need to and don’t feel guilty about it. You need to learn to accept the help of others, because you need to exchange energies and constantly giving isn’t doing this. Don’t be too proud to ask for help when you need it from those around you. When help is offered to you without asking, accept it as a divine gift from the Spirit world to say thank you for all you have done. Even if what you are given is what you think of as only a compliment, accept it and be thankful that someone cared enough to give it to you, then you are more energised to go and give a compliment to someone else.
Think of giving and receiving as a wheel, when you constantly give, but don’t allow to receive, it is no longer a wheel but a straight line, when you give and openly accept receiving it is a wheel that turns smoothly and constantly allow for a continuous journey.

“Finding the real you” workshop - GUINEA PIGS WANTED (6)
This workshop is to help you overcome obstacles that are stopping you from moving forward. It offers steps for you to find out what your gifts / talents are and how to bring them into your life. So that you can be living the life that you want.
It will be an intense workshop and the main thing to bring is honesty!

To date, for me, 2012 has been the start of a creative phase. For those of you who check out my Facebook page, you will have seen my first attempts at using pastels. I’ve also had the urge to write more poetry of which I’ve blogged one poem and have written more and will post them when I feel the urge. J
I have decided that after being a tad pigheaded over 2011 and not listening to my inner guidance as much as I should, I’m going to do it completely for 2012! My main problem is not slowing down and I kept getting the message and even after a friend told me to slow down when I had a reading with him – did I listen? Noooo. Instead I had to have a hysterectomy where I couldn’t physically do anything for six weeks!! Did I listen? Noooo. I kept on going on and was doing readings within two weeks of my operation!
Exhaustion was happening again, did I listen? Noooo. So what happened at the end of 2011? A car accident, where I was hit from behind, and am now suffering badly from whiplash, which is incredibly frustrating for me because I’m a fast healer, but not this time!
So, am I listening? YES!! I AM!!! I am still doing readings, because I love doing them but am pacing myself and spreading them out more, I just can’t sit and do readings back to back for hours at the moment. I’m making sure I lie down throughout the day to rest my neck.
Most importantly I’m giving myself time to do whatever it is I want to do to just chill out. At this point it’s poetry and pastel drawing, seeing if I can do it via copying photos for instance and then giving ‘freelance’ a go, to just let my inspiration take over and see what comes out.
I’m wanting to move into my own premises and know what I want and what I can afford and have put it out there to the universe and I’ll listen to what they say, if nothing crops up, then it’s not the time to move and I won’t jump into something I’m not 100% comfortable with.
So, I am starting the new creative phase of my journey, I’m listening to my body and my inner guidance, as we all should and here’s to a healthy new year where Spirit won’t need to smack me over the back of the head!

I went to the Newcastle Spiritualist church yesterday, I haven’t been for a while and just felt drawn to go, and I am happy to say that I’m glad that I did!
I caught up with a friend who now works in Sydney, and I just had to mention him because what he did was inspiring with his life.
He was a horticulturist and wasn’t happy so went about going back to University and becoming a full-time student and is now qualified and working as a nurse! He was in his late 40’s when he made this life changing decision and he is so happy with what he’s doing and in his job, it’s a joy to see.
So many of us stop ourselves from following our heart or dreams because of the fear that we’re too old, or are scared that we won’t be earning the money that we currently are and there are plenty more excuses out there as well, I’ve just named a few.
Sure my friend did it tough for the 3 years he had to study, but it was all worth the financial struggle because he is now following his passion!
It’s all about reassessing your life and knowing what you can do without and what you truly need and taking it from there. This life that we are living is too short to be stuck doing something we hate with a passion! We should be doing something we LOVE for a passion!!!!
